Happy Poetry Month

April is National Poetry Month. To T.S. Eliot, April was "the cruelest month" but around here, we are rejoicing in the first spurts of spring.

Here is some ancient poetry from the Song of Songs celebrating spring:

For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;
The flowers appear on the earth;
the time of the singing of birds is come,
and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land.

  1. Your photo reminded me of one of my all-time favorite poems. I think Wordsworth wrote it. The one that ends with..."and then my heart with pleasure fills, and dances with the daffodils." Ahhh. (Thanks for the congrats email on my series!)
